What Is It About Cats? If you have a cat or several, you have probably wondered at one time why we keep them at all. They are not like dogs, who traditionally work for their keep and who wish to serve us. No, cats are quite a different sort. By and large they serve themselves and expect us to serve them, though if they particularly like you, they may bring you an occasional dead mouse and lay it at your feet. And as attractive as it is to have something dead and gooey laid at your feet, it is not what they can do for us that makes us like the cat. We admire their independence and confidence. Have you ever seen a cat take on a large dog and intimidate him with nothing more than hisses, fuzzed fur, and the threat of its paw? A dog easily could beat a cat, but it’s the attitude of the cat that makes the tables even. We also secretly admire the cat’s unapologetic approach to indulging themselves. Many will eat until absolutely fat, they’re likely to zero in on any desired heat source even if it is your chair, and they will sleep away most of the day. If they want food at five in the morning they have no reservation about waking you. If you give them food, they want the expensive kind, if you give them that, they want your supper. If you don’t give it to them, they’ll simply steal it. They want you to let them out of the house but then when you open the door they’ll sit right down and look while you wait. Then, when you are about to give up they decide to go out, only to ask to come back in three minutes later. It’s a good thing we aren’t all cats, or no work would ever get done. But we would be very good at loving those who treat us well. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=CD_Mohatta
